“এখন আর দেরি নয়” গানটিতে কবি দেশবাসীকে অবিলম্বে কর্মে ঝাঁপিয়ে পড়ার আহ্বান জানিয়েছেন। তিনি বলেছেন, এখন আর হাত গুটিয়ে বসে থাকার সময় নেই, সবাইকে হাতে হাত রেখে নিজের পথে (স্বদেশী ভাবনায়) ফিরে আসতে হবে। সামনেই মিলনের স্বর্গ অপেক্ষা করছে। স্বাধীনতার মন্দিরে শঙ্খ বেজে উঠেছে এবং দুয়ার খুলে গেছে। এই শুভ লগ্ন যেন বয়ে না যায়, তাই কবি সবাইকে আত্মদানের উৎসধারায় মঙ্গলঘট পূর্ণ করতে বলেছেন। ঘরে যা কিছু আছে তাই নিয়েই পূজার থালা সাজাতে হবে। আজ আদান-প্রদানের দিন, তাই দ্বিধা না করে দেশের জন্য বাঁচতে হলে পূর্ণভাবে বাঁচতে হবে, আর মরতে হলে বীরের মতো মরতে হবে।
