Calcutta Youth Choir is a legendary Indian choral group established in 1958 by Ruma Guha Thakurta, along with cultural icons Salil Chowdhury and Satyajit Ray. Renowned for their spirited renditions of folk and mass songs (Gana Sangeet), the choir has played a pivotal role in popularizing Bengali cultural music globally, notably winning the first prize at the Copenhagen Youth Festival in 1974. Calcutta Youth Choir is known for Beje Uthlo Ki Somoyer Ghori (1976), Amra Tori Beye Jai (1981) and Chetonar Gaan (1988).
